Join Coast Women in Business on Thursday, October 8, 2020 via Zoom video conferencing and learn how to understand financial statements.
CPA Jerry Murphy will cover what the reporting objectives are for your financial statements as well as what you’ll need to be aware about when you look at your financial statements. He’ll also discuss a couple of specific financial statements, your company’s balance sheet and your income statement. Jerry will go over what each statement is reporting and how the two statements relate to each other.
In addition, you’ll learn how you can use your business’s financial statements to pull important information out about your company. This includes a series of analytical procedures that you can do very easily as well as a few important ratios of which you need to be aware.
Last but not least, you’ll have the opportunity to ask Jerry any questions so you can apply the principles he’ll discuss to your own situation.
During our virtual meeting, feel free to put any questions in chat so that presenter and moderators can make sure you get the information you need. We can all sip a ☕ beverage 🍵 of our choice in lieu of the complimentary coffee and tea we usually provide at our in-person meetings.

About the Presenter
Jeremiah (Jerry) Murphy
Jerry has run his accounting firm on the Mendocino Coast since 1976. He’s focused on helping small and mid-sized businesses with issues such as income taxes for individuals, partnerships, and corporations; audits of nonprofit organizations, business compilations, and reviews; and QuickBooks set-up, use, and problem-solving.
He wrote the “Buy-Sell Agreements” eBook for Commerce Clearing House’s Solutions for Business Advisors website. Jerry earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Maryland, and is a Certified Public Accountant in California. You can reach him at jmurphy@mcn.org.
